Ranking

An independent panel of experts performed an evaluation on behalf of The Federal Ministry for Education, Science and Culture and published the results at the end of 2002 [pdf]. This evaluation has ranked the ranked as Number One by the quality parameters PIC (potential impact category) and Citecat (citation category). Although the Institute of Biochemical Pharmacology is one of the smallest in the Medical Faculty - regarding the number of the state employees - it was evaluated already 1995 by independent experts of EMBO as one of the most scientifically productive, deserving especially support by additional personnel by the state authorities – which never materialized.

Biotech and Start-Up Companies

Three Biotech-Companies were (co-) founded by members of our institute:

Amynon Biotech (Dr. Barbara Fitzky)

Biocrates (Prof. Dr. Glossmann)

InnovaCell (Prof. Dr. Hering)
